New Move

Its been a long time since I wrote anything in my Blog and a lot has changed! I have moved house to a small bungalow and have had it extended and a new work shop put in. Unfortunately my work shop is much smaller than my previous one and I am unable to do workshops anymore. I have also had a carpole tunnel operation on my right hand and cannot use it much at the moment. I have finished a quilt in the past year and made a few soft toys and wall hangings.

The first picture is of a heron hanging up in my workroom.

Here is a picture of my new work room

The last image is the Girls Day Out quilt which was a Block of the Month. It had a lot of embroidery and took me 12 months to complete.

I shall endeavour to start working on a few wall hangings which I need to complete as soon as my hand has healed.

I will be back with more up-dates on the near future

Finished Bugs

Here are my latest paintings of whimsical Bugs, Bee, ladybird and dragonfly. They were such fun to paint and kept me sane while in lock down. I will be doing Spring Pots next so watch this space!

This Year`s Work Shop Lockdown!

No work shops so here is a cute picture of the Great Grandchildren with Gt Grandad! – We now have two – Finley just three weeks old!
Here is my latest painting of a fun ladybug. It is one of three which was created via a zoom link to Gill Hobb`s class. It was great fun to do and am looking forward to finishing the last of the trio this week-end.

At last an Up-date

I finished this quilt last year and forwarded it to Today`s Quilter for their show and tell section. They very kindly published it in their monthly magazine and I was really chuffed. It is a wall hanging made up of squares of Saishuki embroidery and Pineapple blocks. I was very pleased with the effect.

Jenipher has completed a beautiful butterfly which she intends to hang in her newly decorated bedroom – well done!

P1010083

Jane has made a beautiful poinsettia Xmas Card using acrylic paint outlined in a technique using mud paint.

P1010082

Joan has made Shaun the Sheep – a cheeky character sitting in a field of daisies with seagulls overhead.  The sheep was painted on a thick canvas type paper.  The wool was made using interlocking one stroke commas and then mud painted swirls over. The body and head were cut out and then glued onto a blue card background.  A fun and rewarding technique.  Joan is going to give this to her grand daughter for her birthday. Well done Joan!

Violets and Lace

P1010044

Well done Ladies  Violets and lace were painted on square canvas and Jenny did hers on a heart shaped box with work still in progress. Jeanie will no longer be joining us on a Thursday but hopefully she will be back again in the winter when she has put her garden to bed!

P1010045

Ivy has finished her Seaside Bear which looks amazing and also produced another picture of an owl using the one stoke and dotting technique – well done Ivy!

I have just finished working on a painted clock which was a workshop held at Gill Hobbs from Little Acorns – thanks Gill I thoroughly enjoyed the experience!

Woolsery Village is holding an Open Gardens again and I have been asked to take part – if it wasn’t for my work room I would have declined as  the garden is a bit parched and my poor hubbie has worked himself all week to get it into some form of shape – wish me luck tomorrow!
